Small Batch Blueberry Crumb Bars

musesfoolI love to bake but since I live alone, I'm always looking for small batch dessert recipes, and I've had this one bookmarked for a while: Small Batch Blueberry Crumb Bars.

I followed the directions, doubling it to fill an 8x8" square pan, and adding a little cinnamon to the blueberry filling, but they don't slice cleanly or hold together as bars. And I never thought I would say this, but I think there's too much butter. Just doubling the crust recipe doesn't work - it's greasy and tastes odd. It also doesn't make enough to have a solid bottom crust and cover the top. I'm disappointed, as most blueberry crumb bar recipes are for much larger batches (i.e., a 9x13" pan).
